Last Saturday was super saturday for our relief society :) Here is what I made:
reversable thanksgiving/christmas blocks:

(my christmas letters got a little messed up cause i originally forgot to put one of the letters in...but it gives it character, right?)

cute magnets:

I also made an edible christmas wreath out of cornflakes and marshmallows.....but tommy and i ate it :/ ...lol

And while I had the camera out, i figured i take some pictures of two good looking people ;)

Didn't I marry the cutest boy ever?!

Happy Halloween!

For Halloween, Tommy and I weren't planning on dressing up until the last minute. But on Saturday night we realized we were out of time and needed costumes. We decided on 80's exercise enthusiasts. I already had leg warmers, converses and bright blue weights, so we made Tommy some leg warmers, got me some leopard print leggings, and both of us got oversized shirts and sweat bands :)

Here are our costumes:

On Sunday night we went over to our friends' (Bryce and Beka) apartment for a fun Halloween party. They had another couple over to and set up a mystery dinner (Don't worry, neither Tommy nor I were the murderer...Bryce was...) with delicious food, and then we played 13 Dead End Drive (Beka's brother found it in great condition at a thrift store...sweet!), and watched Hocus Pocus, the best halloween movie ever! It was a fun night! ...but we didn't get any trick or treaters :(
For the dinner, we were in charge of dessert and made these deliciously spooky pumpkin and eyeball cookies:
Yum!

Apartment Makeover

When we moved into our apartment, we cleaned and put in furniture, but we never really decorated it. A few weeks ago, we got sick of it. It was ugly and boring, and we like having people over, so we decided to revamp. One Saturday moening, Tommy and I took all of our remaining Walmart cards from our wedding and bought some fun stuff for our house. We then spent the whole day redecorating. It looks so nice now! We got a couch cover (which makes a huge difference I have discovered), more funiture to keep us organized, decorations for the walls, and things to cover up our storage spots. Here is what it looks like now:

Here is our walkway going from the front door to the kitchen, before it was a file cabinet, all my homework and printer pile up on a chair, and all of our workout equipment under the piano with nothing covering it, and just the calendar was on the wall (which we should probably move...). Much Improved!!

We bought the utility table to hold some random items and put a cool bowl from Costa Rica on the bottom shelf for our keys and wallets. I also made the little curtain around the piano to hide all the exercise stuff. I made magnet boards out of different sized cookie sheets and pink spray paint and made cute magnets for them to for some wall art :)
Here is our nice corner:

This was terrible. We just had some boxes and junk hanging out behind the chair and Tommy's coffin-looking guitar case leaning against the wall. All of the decorations on the coffee table were crowded together on half our kitchen table. So we bought this table to display them and I made a little curtain for it so all our junk can be hidden there. It got crumpled in this picture, so imagine it actually laying smooth. We ordered 3 canvases from CanvasPeople, which turned out awesome :) The vinyl quote was already there, but that was it.

And here is our entertainment area. We got a couch cover (it was a really ugly couch), bright curtains ( the other panel of each color are on our bedroom window), and a bookshelf for our movies and Tommy's homework so that they are not all piled up on the floor. It looks so much cleaner and brighter now!
I wish I had before pics so you could see how much it has changed. Our new apartment just looks so much nicer when you walk in and is much easier to keep organized, and we're not embarrassed by it when people come over. It's great!
